Nottingham headquarters some of the country’s most innovative businesses and organisations of all shapes and sizes. Many of these businesses have made huge strides in the past 12 months and the Nottingham Post Business Awards seek to recognise their efforts and put them in the spotlight.
The annual award ceremony is returning for 2019 in May and will welcome hundreds of guests to what is set to be another glittering occasion. The awards are going into their 7th year and have once again welcomed the partnership between the Nottingham Post and local brand agency Champions (UK) plc who always make events such as these unforgettable.
Behind each of the categories are sponsors who have placed their support in their chosen category and will eventually decide the winners. Behind the entire awards, there are headline sponsors who help reinforce the importance of community spirit and supporting fellow businesses. One of two headline sponsors this year are global advisory and accounting firm Mazars, who are in the UK ‘top 10’.
Mazars specialise in providing a full range of advisory services, alongside their tax, audit and accounting offering, primarily to privately owned businesses and their owners, across the whole of the Midlands region as well as nationally. It is fantastic to have such an inspirational business on board with these awards so we were keen to find out how these awards benefit their business.
Alistair Wesson, the firms Nottingham Office Managing Partner explained: “For the team at Mazars it is vital for us to work within and be a part of the local business community which we are working with. We pride ourselves in supporting numerous businesses via our wide ranging service capability and our commercial mind set, whether this be for private individuals, growing businesses, not-for-profit, public sector organisations or publicly listed entities. The awards offer the chance for us to meet both new and established businesses and to potentially work with them in the future to help with their growth plans.”
Across many years these awards have made a huge impact on the region, they motivate, inspire and encourage businesses to strive for success. Alistair highlighted some other benefits of the awards and how they affect the region “we believe in highlighting and promoting the high-quality businesses and business leaders within their field, helping them to raise their profile, whilst building their brand. The awards in Nottingham give local businesses a platform of opportunity to do just so.”
Alistair said, when speaking about the stand-out qualities of Nottingham and how they work together to make it a great place to do business, “Nottingham is a forward-thinking City with a broad range of different business types; benefiting from great transport links, two great universities and a good networking community, which all form a solid foundation from which to base any business.”
To conclude, Alistair was eager to reinforce the ways in which Mazars contribute to Nottingham’s business community. “With a local office in Nottingham, employing over 130 people in the East Midlands, specialising in audit, tax and advisory services across a range of markets and sectors, Mazars offers skills beyond the reach of most regional firms and have the international structure to leverage from our global talent pool in over 100 countries. We pride ourselves on our deep commitment to supporting our clients at every stage of their development and thereby becoming a trusted advisory partner in the realisation of long term goals and objectives.”
