Three shortlisted businesses who make their customer service a priority and have a genuine passion to go above and beyond the everyday, will be praised at the Nottingham Post Business Awards on Wednesday 22 May.

Western Power Distribution (WPD), are the sponsors behind this year’s Customer Service Excellence Award and will be revealing their chosen winner during the glittering ceremony which is being hosted at the East Midlands Conference Centre.

WPD is the electricity distribution network operator for Nottingham as well as the rest of the Midlands, South West England and South Wales.

300,000 homes and businesses in Nottingham alone rely on WPD’s electricity network of pylons, cables, wires and substations to keep their lights on.

With such a large community of people, customer service naturally sits at the centre of WPD and it is their own dedication to providing a premium service which has influenced their sponsorship.

David Hewitt, Nottingham Distribution Manager said: “We’re proud to sponsor the Customer Service Excellence award as this is a category close to our hearts.

“For us, the customer is key and this award is a great opportunity to recognise businesses who are championing our own ethos by treating customers the way you would like to be treated.”

WPD has been the crux of the local business community since their establishment in 1999 and takes pride in providing businesses with a reliable power supply.

Mr Hewitt added: “Although our focus is simple, we work extremely hard to maintain the electricity network and ensure that power supplies are reliable and support Nottingham for years to come.

“We also provide new electricity connections so we will be working with businesses and housing developers to connect electricity to support new developments and expansions.”

WPD has £9m investment works on the horizon for their Nottingham electricity network, over the next year. And, like many of the businesses in their chosen category, WPD will continually invest into their customer service initiatives to ensure they carry on giving their customers the best.

WPD joins a wide range of category sponsors at this year’s awards including; BMI The Park Hospital, The Alternative Adviser, HSBC UK, Midlands Connect and Stirland Paterson Group.
