Excellence in Industry is just one of the 15 award categories at the Nottingham Post Business Awards which is set to return on Wednesday 22 May. Awarded to a business that has made significant strides in its respective field, and in the same breath has strengthened the local economy, competition is sure to be fierce when finalists are announced next week.

Applications for the category have been in the hands of Gateley Plc whose job it has been to select just three finalists including one winner for the highly contested category. Gateley Plc, who are also on board as the awards’ headline sponsor this year, provide straightforward, commercial legal advice at every stage of the business lifecycle to businesses across the UK.

Mark Rutherford is Partner and heads up the Corporate department at the firm’s Nottingham office. He commented on their involvement with this category: “Gateley Plc is delighted to be sponsoring the 2019 Nottingham Post Business Awards which celebrates business success stories across our region.

“As legal and business advisers, we are proud to work with exceptional businesses across Nottinghamshire, and beyond, that are delivering growth, innovation, jobs and economic success. We are looking forward to being part of the 2019 awards alongside a great line up of sponsors and finalists.”

Whether a business is looking to expand its portfolio through acquisition, move premises, recruit more people, or contractual issues from Brexit, Gateley Plc provide crucial support to businesses when they need it.

Mr Rutherford highlighted the many ways in which the firm continues to contribute to the local business community: “Gateley Plc is an active member of the business community, supporting events across the region which bring together Nottingham businesses such as Nottingham Partners, The Nottingham Post Business Awards and the East Midlands Chamber Annual Dinner.”

“Through seminars and conferences, we provide insight across a broad range of business matters and have worked with the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce to provide workshops in relation to people matters.” He added: “We regularly host events with the professional community bringing together legal, financial and property professionals across the East Midlands as we are strong believers that a collaborative professional environment within the East Midlands supports economic growth and regional business strength.”
