With the finalists announced, the competition increasing and the 29 May drawing ever closer, the Nottingham Post Business Awards is the hot topic for businesses across the region.

Adding to this ever-growing excitement is the confirmation that world renowned High Street bank, HSBC, are on board and joining the stellar line-up of sponsors that this year’s awards boast.

HSBC support nearly one million businesses throughout the UK and more than 37 million customers worldwide.

It is their continued efforts to support businesses the world over, which makes them the perfect fit for a business event of this kind. In fact, in just over three years HSBC have committed £24bn in lending to UK SMEs.

And, it’s the Family Business of the Year category which has gained the support of the large-scale, High Street sponsor this year! This category acknowledges a business which has a family at its core, whether it be a new family that has recently taken over proceedings, or a business with roots spanning many years and many generations, the category is one of great honour to claim.

A highly contested category, and with so many fantastic family-led and run businesses having entered this year, the panel of judges at HSBC had the challenge of choosing just three finalists which were announced as Express Recruitment, The Art File and The Wilkins group.

Speaking about their interest in and sponsorship of the Family Business of the Year category, Elliott Watts, the Business Development Director at HSBC explained: “We believe that family businesses are a lifeblood to the UK economy, with many passing on a successful legacy through the generations. We wish to recognise the diversity across the county, and also celebrate the outstanding contributions made by the shortlisted businesses, in their respective industries.”

Elliott went on to give insight into how HSBC contributes to the business community of Nottinghamshire. He said: “Nottinghamshire has a proud heritage of being a heartland for business success and innovation. As a Bank, we believe that building great relationships is of paramount importance, so our team of Relationship Managers are focused on understanding the needs of our customers, allowing them to tailor bespoke banking arrangements which can help business owners achieve their ambitions.”

The Nottingham Post Business Awards takes place at the East Midlands Conference Centre on Tuesday 29 May with guests welcomed with a Champagne reception at 6:15pm.
