An integral part of Nottingham’s business community, the awards praise and reward businesses that have made significant strides in their respective industries over the past 12 months.
Joining this year’s confirmed sponsors is local radio station, Smooth Radio. Smooth Radio targets listeners looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Their 'Relaxing Music Mix' appeals to listeners of all ages and pulls in 471,000 listeners every week.
Ross Wilson is the Station Director at Smooth Radio and has played a big role in driving the station’s sponsorship of these awards.
Outlining the key reasons for their returning involvement with the Nottingham Post Business Awards, he said: “The city is a thriving place for businesses to be based and as a commercial radio station covering Nottinghamshire we always try to support the local business community. We like to give back to and recognise particular organisations and individuals that have contributed in some way to our thriving area.”
He continued: “The city’s central location with easy access to other surrounding cities is of course one of the main advantages for business growth. But ultimately it is down to the drive and desire to succeed that flows throughout the members of the community that makes the county inspirational. With two leading universities and many successful colleges, Nottingham leaves the door wide open for future innovators.”
Reaching large, regional audiences, Smooth Radio stands as a fantastic promotional platform for businesses to take advantage of and get their name heard by their target market – a benefit to the business community that Ross was keen to explain further.
He said: “Our support of the local community extends to our own clients, local businesses looking to thrive in the region increasing their customer base and market share. So, we will continue to use our audience reach to help them achieve the best results for their business.”
With radio broadcasting a hugely competitive industry, it’s paramount for Smooth Radio to continue drawing in listeners. And, with this in mind Ross shared some of the station’s aspirations for the coming months, saying: “We have a talented team of presenters who cater to all listeners’ music preferences and provide content that is always creative, visual, interactive and innovative. Our primary aim over the next 12 months is to continue to broadcast a first class mix of music for our dedicated listeners on all platforms.”
